Pam Ullman was elected president of the Lisle Community Unit School District 202 Board of Education on April 27 after a voice vote at the district’s regular meeting.
The board also confirmed Daniel Helderly as vice president and elected Miss Sims as secretary. The appointments followed nominations and voice votes; earlier in the meeting the board had appointed the superintendent as president pro tem while officer nominations were conducted.
Why it matters: The board’s leadership roles determine who sets meeting agendas and serves as official spokesperson on behalf of the board. The newly elected officers will serve one-year terms under the board’s policy on qualifications, terms and duties of officers.
The board approved a consent agenda that bundled a set of routine items: meeting minutes, payroll, vendor pay orders, multiple personnel actions (classified and extra-duty hires and resignations, certified and classified retirements), student fees and building-usage fees for 2026–27, and two classroom lease agreements with the School Association for Special Education in DuPage (SASID). The motion to approve the consent agenda was moved and seconded and carried on a roll-call voice vote with all members present voting aye.
What board members said: During nominations, Ullman said only “I do accept” when asked whether she would serve; Miss Sims likewise answered “I accept” after being nominated for secretary. On the consent agenda, a board member moved the motion and it was seconded; the roll call recorded ayes from all members present.
Next steps: The board will continue with a second reading where requested for certain policy items discussed during the meeting. The board adjourned to closed session at 9:06 p.m. to discuss pending litigation settlement and student matters.
