City of Beaufort names Danielle Cobb as new public information officer

The City of Beaufort announced the appointment of Danielle Cobb as its new public information officer; Cobb is expected to begin her duties May 18, 2026, the city said.

City Manager Scott Marshall said in a press release that clear, consistent communication is essential to good government and that Cobb’s experience delivering information “with accuracy and professionalism” will be an asset to city communications, according to the announcement read on BCTV.

Cobb is a graduate of the University of South Carolina Beaufort and, the announcement said, joined WSAV TV as a multimedia journalist in July 2024. The city’s full press release is available on the City of Beaufort website.

The appointment is an administrative personnel action; the broadcast did not provide additional details about Cobb’s prior roles at WSAV beyond the start date or any terms of employment.
