During a public hearing on April 14, Pipestone County Auditor/Treasurer Amanda Sandy presented two new‑home tax abatement applications and the board approved both.
The board adopted Resolution 59‑18‑26 for Lloyd and Janice Veld (parcels 13.200.0010 and 13.200.0030 at 820 1st Ave West, City of Edgerton) with an estimated three‑year abatement total of $3,314. The board also adopted Resolution 59‑17‑26 for L.R. Zwart (parcel 18‑460‑0100 at 580 Hillcrest, City of Edgerton) with an estimated three‑year abatement total of $3,174. Both motions passed unanimously with Commissioner Hollingsworth absent.
Auditor/Treasurer Sandy also requested scheduling a public hearing for Allan and Peyton Hachmann for May 12, 2026 at 10:00 a.m. for a property in Elmer Township (parcel 05‑020‑0500); the estimated abatement is approximately $753 annually. The board moved to schedule that hearing and approved the date and time.
