County OKs salvage‑yard conditional use permit in Aetna Township

Pipestone County commissioners approved a conditional use permit for a proposed salvage yard in Aetna Township after the county planning commission presented findings and recommended approval.

Melissa Rosendahl presented the Planning Commission’s Findings of Fact, Conclusions, and Recommendations for the application by Shane Cowell and Amy Houselog Cowell for a salvage yard at 1631 211th St., Ruthton (Aetna Township Section 21, NW ¼). On a motion by Commissioner Dallas Roskamp, seconded by Commissioner Doug Nagel, the board approved the Planning Commission’s recommendation; the motion carried unanimously with one commissioner absent.
