At a Jasper County council work session, staff reported that the program’s February 26 quarterly revenue was $2,669,000 and that $6,100,000 has been collected in the program’s first three quarters.
Staff member Jim delivered the update and said the spreadsheet presented to the council includes small interest amounts separately. "The quarterly revenue came in at, if you see the February 26, number at, 2,669,000," he said, adding that the smaller line items shown were interest earned on deposits.
A council member asked how the latest quarter affects original first-year projections and requested the baseline figure used to calculate a $4.70 estimate over 15 years. Jim said the numbers have been tracking the state projections discussed with a financial advisor and recommended consulting the original projections on an annual basis.
Councilors also pressed for clarity about how receipts are being held and whether the ordinance’s earmark for Greenbelt funding has been segregated. Eric Larson said the ordinance calls for establishing a separate account and asked staff to confirm with Kim, who manages the accounting. "How that's accounted for, that is a good question for Kim," Larson said.
The session did not include a formal vote on fees, accounts or allocations; staff said they would follow up with the requested details and bring updated figures to the next meeting.
