House adopts conference committee report No. 1-26; accompanying bill passes final reading

The House of Representatives adopted conference committee report No. 1-26 and passed the accompanying house bill on final reading Thursday after members voted in favor, the presiding officer announced.

Representative Kahalua moved to adopt conference committee report No. 1-26 and that the accompanying house bill, as amended, "pass final reading." Representative Morikawa seconded the motion.

Members took a roll and subsequent voice acknowledgments. On the measure, Representative Morikawa stated, "on the measure before us, all majority members vote aye," and Representative Garcia stated, "on the measure before us, all minority members vote aye." The presiding officer then announced that the bill had passed final reading.

Earlier in the session the House had approved a motion to suspend the rules to allow certain house bills to be considered for final reading on the consent calendar; that motion was moved by Representative Morikawa and seconded by Representative Garcia and carried by voice vote.

The action on conference committee report No. 1-26 was taken under the chamber's routine floor-business procedures; the clerk later noted a 48-hour notice for additional conference committee reports listed on the supplemental pages.
