Mr. Arnold told the committee the transportation office moved into its new facility on April 21 and that a CDO course is scheduled for June 8–11 at the site. He said staff and outside providers toured the new center and praised it, with one vendor calling it the "Taj Mahal" of transportation facilities.
Mr. Arnold said the district piloted the MyRide parent app in April on six buses (two in each area) and plans to open the app district-wide for parents and guardians; communications about downloads and instructions will come from the public information office. He described an organized "draft" process for routes to be held on the last day of school (May 22) in which drivers will select routes by seniority and noted substantial route changes in recent years.
On staffing, Mr. Arnold said the department was about 92 drivers and continuing recruitment; he encouraged board members to tour the new facility and thanked staff for their work during the transition. The committee had no further questions and the meeting adjourned.
