Henrico board approves $4.75 million contract to replace pumps at Strawberry Hill station

Henrico County supervisors approved a $4,753,400 contract with Waco to replace screw pumps No. 1 and No. 3 and associated equipment at the Strawberry Hill Pumping Station.

The contract, presented to the board by Mr. Chan, calls for replacement of the screw pumps, installation of permanent stainless-steel troughs, new gear reducers and concrete repairs, plus delivery of spare parts. Work is anticipated to begin in July and to be completed within 610 calendar days, Mr. Chan said.

Board members approved the award by voice vote. The agenda packet identified the measure as agenda item 95-26; the board voted in favor without recorded roll-call tallies in the transcript.

The county did not specify a contract number or further financing details during the meeting. The board chair closed the item after members voiced support and the contract was adopted.
