Economic Development Committee adopts substitute and gives House Bill 1915 a unanimous due-pass recommendation

The Committee on Economic Development voted unanimously to adopt a House committee substitute and recommended House Bill 1915 be given a due-pass recommendation to the full House.

Representative Castile, who presented the substitute, said it "is the culmination of a session-long works between all the stakeholders" and that the changes address payment timelines and which properties would be affected. He told the committee the substitute had been negotiated with industry groups and resolves tensions "between AGC and HBA." Representative Amato urged colleagues to support the measure, saying the sponsor had worked hard to convene stakeholders.

The chair moved the substitute and later moved that the committee recommend the substitute for a "due pass". The committee adopted the substitute by voice and then voted on the due-pass recommendation by roll call. The clerk announced a final tally of 17 ayes and 0 nos. No recorded amendments were adopted during the session.
