Oconto Falls board approves contracts for elementary principal finalist and internal staffing change

The Oconto Falls Public School District board approved two personnel contracts at a special meeting, moving the district toward issuing offers to certified staff.

Oconto Falls Public School District Superintendent presented John Dragler as the district's top candidate for the elementary principal position, describing his background in mathematics and recent work in summer school and as an assistant principal. The superintendent also described an internal staffing change for Mark Jonas and explained that the district had posted the position that Jonas applied for but that he is an internal candidate.

A board member moved to accept the contracts as presented; the chair announced the motion and a second. The board voted in favor and the chair declared the motion carried. The superintendent said the approvals will allow the district to proceed with issuing contracts to certified staff.

The district did not provide additional contract terms or start dates during the meeting. The board did not discuss any alternate finalists or appeals to the hiring decision during the public session.

The board moved on to other agenda items after approving the contracts.
