The Weatherford City Council voted to approve a zoning map amendment changing approximately 10.764 acres at 395 Jones Road from Agricultural to Industrial and approved a related final plat for one commercial lot.
Planning staff described the parcel as consistent with the city's general plan for manufacturing and warehouse uses and said the proposed building will support the same number of employees as the owner’s current facility. Scott McDonald presented the proposed site plan and elevation drawings and recommended approval of both the zoning map amendment (ZCH-26-0003) and the final plat (SBDP-26-0002). No members of the public spoke during the public hearing.
Councilmember Heidi Wilder moved to approve the zoning amendment as presented; Matt Tiscus provided the second. The council then approved the final plat for the EOG Addition as presented. Both actions passed on the council’s recorded electronic vote.
The approvals clear the way for an expanded light-industrial facility at the Jones Road location; staff will follow standard permitting and site review processes before construction begins.
