School board schedules closed sessions May 26 and June 9 to evaluate superintendent

The Roseville Area Schools board voted April 28 to schedule closed sessions on May 26 and June 9 to evaluate the superintendent’s performance, citing Minnesota Statute Section 13D.05, subdivision 3(a) as the legal authority for an evaluative closed session.

Director Bogoshevsky moved to set the closed sessions “to evaluate the performance of the superintendent as permitted by applicable Minnesota statute sections 13 D 0.05 subdivision 3 a,” and the motion was seconded and approved by voice vote. Chair Rose Chu called for the voice vote and announced the motion carried.

During brief discussion before the motion, Chair Chu explained that the board, by law, may meet in closed session on personnel-evaluation matters and that the board would provide a public summary of any actions in subsequent meetings.
