Oakland commission approves consent agenda; accepts $2 million sewer grant and swears in new P&Z member

The Town of Oakland commission approved its consent agenda on April 28, including minutes from the April 14 meeting, appointment to the Planning & Zoning Board and acceptance of a $2,000,000 sewer grant.

Commissioners moved and seconded the consent agenda and approved it by voice vote. Mayor Shane Taylor administered the oath to Jennifer Tyree, who accepted the appointment to the Planning & Zoning Board and pledged to observe the provisions of the U.S. Constitution, Florida law and the Town of Oakland charter and ordinances.

A commissioner drew attention to the $2,000,000 grant for a sewer project included in the consent agenda, thanked town staff and singled out Mike Parker for his role in securing the funding. “As a small town, we appreciate every opportunity that we can to get those grants,” the commissioner said.
