The Fort Pierce Historic Preservation Board convened April 27 and handled routine business including elections, administrative approvals and training updates.
After the PZCOA hearing, staff summarized administrative certificates of appropriateness issued in March (repairs and replacements such as windows, doors, exterior water heater and roofs), reporting five administrative approvals for the month.
Staff also presented information about the Certified Local Government (CLG) program, explaining that the city is a CLG and that the program — administered by the National Park Service and State Historic Preservation Offices — provides technical assistance, training and competitive grants for historic surveys, planning studies and National Register nominations. Staff listed upcoming webinars on the Secretary of the Interior standards and conferences including Florida Trust and Preservation on Main Street events.
The board completed its annual organization: a nomination for chair was seconded and approved on roll call (recorded 'Yes' by Miss Stark, Miss Garrett, Miss Heipelite/Hyposite and Chair Davis). The board then nominated and approved Miss Stark as vice chair by the same roll‑call pattern. The board also approved an excused absence for Miss Spivey following a motion and second.
With no further business, Chair Davis adjourned the meeting.
