Board appoints temporary treasurer and forms bylaws subcommittee

The Bradford County Fair Board voted to appoint a temporary treasurer and to form a bylaws-and-charter subcommittee during its regular meeting.

Chair called the meeting to order and relayed that Chris Paige had asked to step down from the treasurer post. A board member moved to have Pam fill in as treasurer until the executive election on May 26; the motion was seconded and approved on a voice vote.

The board also approved a motion to create a five-person subcommittee to review and rewrite bylaws and then the chapter charter. Board members volunteered to serve; the chair said the subcommittee will produce a draft the board must vote on before any changes to the chapter are adopted.

Members said the subcommittee is intended to clarify rental and fee policies, membership counts, and other governance matters. The chair asked volunteers to prepare for work between the regular meeting and the May 26 election so the committee could present recommendations in time for subsequent board action.

The board closed the item and moved to other agenda business.
