Committee approves final invoices, uses contingency for relocation and FF&E

The Town of Farmington building committee on Wednesday approved a set of invoices for final construction and move-related work and agreed to apply contingency funds to cover two additional charges.

What the committee approved: The invoice packet included JF Iapuccio (site contractor) for $28,975; Innovative Engineering Services (commissioning agent) for $4,744.62; a Meyer relocation supplemental charge of $4,858.69 that will come from the owner's contingency; and Interscape FF&E charges of $17,229.42 that will also be paid from contingency. A motion to approve the invoices was made and carried by voice vote; the chair stated "motion carries."

Budget context: Finance staff Kath told the committee that KBE is at about 97% of contract value, Puccio's at 93%, and Silver Petrucelli fully invoiced. She reported the owner's contingency is at 83% and said, "If you move over to the contingency log, we have 49 just under $50,000 left in contingency." She described the Meyer relocation supplemental charge as additional field labor costs negotiated down to $4,858.69 and said a small FF&E package would be funded later from the capital budget when approved.

Why it matters: Using contingency for last‑minute relocation and FF&E expenses finalizes remaining site and move costs as the new town hall prepares to open. Committee members said the additional charges were reasonable given timeline pressures and the relocation work required.
