Planning commission continues variance to allow water vending machine at 110 S. 11th Ave.

The Hanford City Planning Commission on April 28 voted to continue a variance request to allow a water vending machine at 110 South 11th Avenue to its June 23, 2026 meeting. Planning staff said a neighboring property owner within the shopping center raised concerns about inconsistencies between the proposal and shared easements and covenants, and staff requested more time for the applicant and the property owner to resolve those concerns.

The continuance was proposed by a commissioner, seconded and approved by roll call. Planning staff said the project had been noticed in the Hanford Sentinel and to property owners within 300 feet of the subject site. The continuance gives staff and the applicant additional time to address the neighbor’s comments about easements and restrictions before the public hearing resumes.

No members of the public spoke at the general public-comment portion of the meeting on this item. The commission did not take any substantive action on the variance beyond continuing the hearing to June 23, 2026.
