Fruitport council approves bank signature change, goose-control service and $10,804 sealcoat for boat launch

The Village of Fruitport council voted on a series of routine governance and maintenance actions at its April 20 meeting, approving a change to bank signature authority and contracting work for goose control and a parking-lot sealcoat.

President Roger Vanderstelt presided over the meeting. Council member Carl Rothenberger moved to remove former council member Donna Pope from signature approvals on the village’s Shelby State Bank account; the motion, seconded by Council member Bill Overkamp, passed on a roll-call vote with Chris LeFaive, Bill Overkamp, Carl Rothenberger and Roger Vanderstelt voting yes.

Rothenberger next moved, with Overkamp supporting, to accept a prorated service agreement from Goose Control of West Michigan, LLC based on a presented $3,000 quote. Treasurer Ann LaCroix presented the quote to council; the motion passed by roll call with LeFaive, Overkamp, Rothenberger and Vanderstelt voting yes.

For the village boat-launch parking lot, President Vanderstelt moved and Overkamp supported approval of a quote from Advanced Sealing & Pavement, Inc. in the amount of $10,804.00 to sealcoat the lot. The council approved the contract by roll call (yes votes: LeFaive, Overkamp, Rothenberger and Vanderstelt).

Earlier in the meeting the council approved the consent agenda — including the meeting agenda and prior minutes — on a motion by Overkamp supported by LeFaive; roll-call vote recorded yes votes from LeFaive, Overkamp and Vanderstelt and the motion carried.

The meeting concluded after a motion to adjourn by Rothenberger, supported by LeFaive; the meeting adjourned at 5:46 p.m.
