Board agrees to seek proposals for management or lease options for Tunica Medical Clinic and Robinsonville center

Board members discussed competing paths for operation and disposition of the Tunica Medical Clinic and the Robinsonville Resource Center and authorized advertising for proposals.

A board member presented three options: accept a recent proposal from a newly introduced health agency, continue with the existing management company for another year, or restart the request-for-proposals process. The board discussed whether staying with the current manager would allow a more measured transition or whether reissuing an RFP would be preferable to solicit competitive bids.

During discussion a board member referenced a recently introduced agency name heard in the meeting (“Bona” as pronounced in the record) and asked whether that entity might operate the clinic and lease the resource center. The board noted a plan could include a year of operation under a selected manager with the option to list the clinic or resource center for sale afterward if desired.

Ultimately the board directed staff to advertise for proposals, leaving the options open for competitive review and later board action. No final management contract was awarded at the meeting.
