Mister Clark, county emergency-services staff, asked the Board of Supervisors to approve submitting a BRIC (Building Resilient Infrastructure and Communities) grant application to Mississippi Emergency Management to fund a generator and transfer switch at the Tunica Medical Clinic. Clark said the program requires a 75% federal/25% local cost share and asked for board approval to apply.
“Submit application for fiscal year 2024–25 BRIC grant for a generator and transfer switch for the Tunica Medical Clinic,” Clark said, noting the 75/25 cost-share requirement. The board approved moving forward with the application by voice vote.
Clark also summarized recent E-911 expenditures for repairs and equipment and reported that FEMA approved Individual Assistance for Tunica County under disaster number 4899 (winter storm). Clark said local disaster recovery centers (DRCs) will not be located in Tunica County; as of that morning they were set up in Panola County, and staff had posted the application number and online filing resources for residents affected by the storm.
The board approved submitting the grant application and accepted the reports of E-911 expenditures and the FEMA designation; staff will follow the BRIC application schedule and notify the public about Individual Assistance registration options.
