The Emmet County Board of Supervisors approved several budgetary measures and capital plans at its April 28 meeting, including interagency fund transfers totaling $1,375,429 and adoption of the county's Five-Year Construction Program for fiscal 2027.
By unanimous roll call the board adopted Resolution 26-17, which moves $1,277,233 from rural supplemental property taxes to the Secondary Roads fund and authorizes interagency transfers from Non-Departmental to EMPG ($90,498) and HAZMAT ($7,698), for a combined total of $1,375,429. Supervisor Tim Schumacher moved to adopt the resolution and Supervisor Todd Glasnapp seconded; the motion carried with all supervisors voting aye.
County Engineer Walter Davis-Oeth presented the FY2027 Secondary Roads budget for submission to the Iowa Department of Transportation; the board voted to approve the budget for DOT review and adopted Resolution 26-14, the Emmet County Five-Year Construction Program for FY2027, by unanimous roll-call vote (motion by Jeff Quastad, second by Tim Schumacher). Board members also heard a presentation from Joel Christensen of Christensen Construction on landscaping and exterior lettering for the courthouse addition; the company provided a quote of $15,390 for the landscaping work.
