Commissioners ratify $61,150 emergency replacement of jail washers

Major John Martoccia told the Bartholomew County Commissioners that all three industrial washing machines at the county jail were over 18 years old, two were irreparable and a third needed a motor replacement. He requested ratification of an emergency purchase to replace all three.

The vendor listed was 247 Laundry Sales and Service (Martinsville, IN) with three WUN 55 Yamamoto washers at $18,550 each ($55,650), shipping $2,200 and installation and hauling old machines away $3,300, for a total of $61,150. The purchase includes a five-year parts warranty and a two-year labor warranty and will be paid from Jail funds. Commissioner Larry S. Kleinhenz moved to approve the ratification; Commissioner Carl H. Lienhoop seconded and the motion passed unanimously.
