Board recommends replacing cemetery post and adding two park staff; motion approved

Frank Powell, identified in the meeting as the parks/cemetery representative, described current staffing strains in parks and cemetery operations, saying the department is short‑staffed and currently has "2 people that take care of everything" across parks and cemetery duties.

Board members discussed options and budget timing for adding staff. Powell was asked to provide a detailed roles‑and‑responsibilities list to support the request during personnel and budget review. Several members said the next step is to include the positions in next year’s personnel and budget process.

A motion "to add 1 at the cemetery and add 2 at the park" was made, seconded and approved by roll call. The chair directed Powell to prepare supporting documentation to present to city personnel and budget staff.

The board then entered an executive session later in the meeting and reconvened, stating that no action would be taken as a result of that executive session.
