ECD introduces two new dispatchers, highlights Spanish-language capacity

The Emergency Communications District introduced two new dispatchers during the meeting: Jeluishka Patmore, who goes by "Jelly," and Katie Oakley, who goes by "Kate."

The ECD supervisor said Patmore joined the Brentwood Police Department as a dispatcher on 03/16/2026, was born in Ponce, Puerto Rico, raised in Brentwood, and speaks Spanish. The supervisor described Patmore's personal interests and family details and said her Spanish-language ability is an asset for fielding calls from Spanish-speaking residents or passersby.

The supervisor also introduced Kate Oakley, who the supervisor said has worked in public safety since 2003, moved recently to Tennessee after living in Maine, and has already begun answering dispatch phones after two weeks on the job.

Commissioners welcomed both hires, applauded dispatch staff during Telecommunicator Week, and emphasized the value of language skills and team morale. One commissioner specifically praised the Spanish-language capacity and another noted the department's strong support for its staff.
