Commission approves sign waivers for Flamingo (Pinkbird) Car Wash at West Executive Center Drive

The City Commission unanimously approved Resolution 81-26 to allow sign variances and waivers for a car-wash business at 879 West Executive Center Drive, after hearing from the applicant and staff.

Cameron Baker, the land planner on behalf of the applicant, asked the commission to approve four signs — one monument sign and three directional signs — citing site geometry and entry points that would otherwise make the business difficult to find from the main road. Baker noted the planning and zoning board had recommended unanimous approval.

Principal planner Eric Schneider explained the waiver requests in more detail, pointing to entry drives that are not visible from the main thoroughfare and describing why moving the monument sign closer to the access point is necessary for driver wayfinding. Schneider said staff reviewed the application and found it met the applicable standards; staff recommended approval.

With no public opposition cards and no further questions from commissioners, the commission moved and voted unanimously to approve the waivers.
