The Kennesaw Mayor and Council voted unanimously to approve two home occupational land‑use permits for 2970 Bancroft Glen and 3154 Hartness Way. Planning staff presented both applications, which seek approval to produce and sell jewelry, accessories, handbags and home décor from within the applicants' homes.
Planning staff told the council that both properties are zoned planned unit development with a planned unit future land‑use designation and that the planning commission recommended approval. "Staff recommends approval of the application, subject to the following conditions," the planner said, outlining identical conditions for both permits: the permit is nontransferable and limited to the current applicant; there shall be no clients, customers, or employees at the residence; no visible evidence of a home‑based business from the public right of way, including signs; no more than one commercial vehicle dedicated to the business; and the permit is valid for 24 months from the date of approval.
Council took the items up individually. With no public comment on either item, the council moved and seconded approval and recorded unanimous votes on both permits. The approvals carry the staff‑recommended conditions; any change in business operations would require additional review and approval.
The actions bring the two home business permits into effect under the conditions stated and give the applicants two‑year time‑limited authority to operate their specified in‑home businesses. The council did not specify additional enforcement steps at the meeting.
