Kayla Willis of the City of Kennesaw business-license office told the mayor and council Monday that Kennesaw Mart 2025 Incorporated has applied for a retail-package alcohol license to sell beer and wine (including Sunday sales) at 3055 North Main Street NW.
"The applicant is Mr. Zohab Bayani, who will be in attendance next week to answer any questions you may have," Willis said. She told the council the applicant completed the required alcohol workshop, background checks are on file and a distance survey by a certified surveyor indicates the business location is within 300 feet of a private residence and within 600 feet of a school or religious assembly. Willis referenced city code sections governing distance requirements and explained that the mayor and council may waive those requirements if the council determines the license will not have an adverse effect on nearby uses.
What happens next: The applicant is expected to appear at next week's meeting to answer council questions and the council may consider a waiver under the applicable city code provisions.
