City says water-main breaks repaired; boil-water notice to clear after sampling

City staff updated the town-hall audience on two recent water-main breaks and an associated boil-water advisory.

The city manager said crews repaired the first break overnight and that operators completed work and would pull water samples for laboratory clearance. "We should have the first back and be good to go today," the city manager said, and added that a second area (Baldwin, Minnesota Avenue and Moseley Drive) should be cleared the next day.

Staff explained that one issue that complicated public notification was a change in routine procedure caused by temporary staffing changes for toggle/notify duties; maps of affected areas were posted on the city's Facebook page. Residents asked whether reuse irrigation water was untreated; staff clarified reuse water comes from the wastewater plant and is treated before reuse.

No formal action was taken; staff said they would continue sampling and post clearances once laboratory results arrive.
