CSISD board approves design‑build ranking for bond projects and votes to propose nonrenewal of employee contract

The College Station ISD Board of Trustees approved the ranking of design‑build firms for projects tied to the district27s 2021 and 2023 bonds and authorized staff to proceed to the next procurement step. District staff told trustees the two‑step RFQ/RFP process will move from qualifications to cost‑methodology proposals; described projects include LED lighting upgrades, server‑room mini‑split units and replacement of aged HVAC equipment (several units at A&M Consolidated High School are described as roughly 40 years old).

The board voted unanimously to approve the ranking and advance the procurement process. Earlier the board approved the consent agenda (items G I3 and J1–J19) by a 7-0 vote.

Later in the meeting the board announced an executive session held pursuant to the Texas Open Meetings Act (citing Texas Government Code a7a7551.076 and 551.074 for security and personnel exceptions). After returning to open session the board voted 7-0 to propose nonrenewal of the term employment contract of Michael Kennedy and authorized the administration to provide written notice as required by Texas Education Code, chapter 21. The motion language was placed on the record and the vote was unanimous.
