Milwaukie budget committee continues public hearing and schedules full-day presentations for May 2

The Milwaukie Budget Committee voted to approve corrected minutes and to continue the public hearing and department presentations to a full-day meeting on May 2, 2026, starting at 9 a.m.

A committee member moved to approve the February minutes with corrections to wording and the date; the motion was seconded and passed by voice vote.

Members discussed whether the Milwaukie Redevelopment Commission (MRC) hearings must be separate. Staff said they had checked with the city recorder and will confirm proper noticing to ensure any combined convenings meet legal requirements.

The committee then moved and seconded a motion to continue the public hearing and schedule department presentations for May 2. Chair Leslie Schachner confirmed the May 2 meeting will immediately follow the MRC budget committee meeting and staff will provide updated notices as needed.

With those motions carried by voice vote, the committee adjourned and invited the public to the city's Earth Day events before reconvening next week.
