Commission approves mutual aid pact, awards geotextile bid and signs warrants totaling $464,145

Somerset County commissioners approved a set of routine resolutions and procurement awards at the close of Tuesday's workshop.

The commission approved Resolution 2654 authorizing the 2026 Maine County Emergency Management Mutual Aid Agreement, which updates inter-county mutual assistance language for emergency response. The commission then approved Resolution 2655 to award the low bid for polypropylene geotextile fabric (US fabric 315 or equal) to the lowest responsive bidder, a vendor listed from Westbrook, Maine, for a total contract amount of $8,700. Commissioners had opened five bids earlier in the meeting and staff confirmed the low bidderproduct brand and equivalence before the award motion.

The commission also approved Resolution 2656, accepting the Treasurer's Warrant for General Funds, the jail and unorganized territories in the total amount of $464,145. At the start of the meeting the commission accepted minutes from the March 18, 2026 meeting (Resolution 2653).
