City staff reports progress on sewer project; Encore and contractors moving toward connections and lift-station work

Bruceville-Eddy ' City staff updated the council April 23 on sewer and wastewater infrastructure work, reporting that most major mechanical and electrical components are near completion and that contractors are coordinating remaining connection and power tasks.

Staff said Encore's crews are finishing work in several areas and that lift-station panels have been inspected and passed; power poles and wiring are installed at the wastewater plant. The staff update noted that the wastewater treatment plant appears ready for online service pending minor touch-up work.

Officials said the next major tasks are (1) Skye Blue completing service connections to residences, and (2) contractors completing work at the wastewater plant so the city can finalize road and surface restorations. Staff emphasized those timelines depend on contractor schedules and the city's receipt of final change orders and power connections.

A staff member said the city has begun receiving preliminary title and survey work for other development inquiries but that formal submittals were not yet filed. Council asked staff to rely on contractor schedules for public timelines after a constituent threatened litigation over earlier time estimates.

Staff said it will provide schedule updates from contractors and avoid independent public time estimates until verified.
