The Ringgold County Board of Supervisors on April 20 unanimously approved a package of routine administrative actions, including reappointments to the county Veterans Affairs Commission, contracts for cemetery mowing and porta‑john services, and an alcohol permit for a local country club.
Under Resolution RC26.68 the board reappointed three members to the Veterans Affairs Commission. The board listed nominees and terms as Cathy Kitgore (June 2025–June 2028), Kevin Greentand (June 2025–June 2028) and Robert Creveting (June 2026–June 2029). Supervisor Steve Knapp moved the reappointment resolution and Supervisor Randy Taylor seconded the motion; the board recorded unanimous approval. Auditor Amanda Waske attested the resolution.
The board reviewed bids for mowing at three Poe Township cemetery locations and accepted the bid submitted by David Zottman. Bidders recorded in the file included David Zottman, Bret Ruggles, Nathan Rusk and Justin Akers. Resolution RC26‑69 authorizes the mowing contract at a rate of $62.50 per cemetery per mowing. The motion to approve the mowing contract was made by Supervisor Randy Taylor and seconded by Supervisor Steve Knapp; the vote was unanimous.
For porta‑john services at county conservation and secondary roads sites, Cannon Port‑A‑John submitted the only bid at $125 per unit per month, which the board noted is unchanged from the current year. The board approved the contract under Resolution RC26.70 after a motion by Supervisor Steve Knapp and second by Supervisor Randy Taylor; the motion passed unanimously and was attested by Auditor Amanda Waske.
The board also approved an alcohol permit for Sun Valley Country Club (Resolution RC26‑71). The motion was made by Supervisor Randy Taylor and seconded by Supervisor Steve Knapp; the board voted unanimously to approve the permit and the resolution was attested by Auditor Amanda Waske.
Procedural notes: earlier in the meeting the board approved the meeting agenda and later approved the minutes, both by unanimous votes. Supervisor Randy Taylor excused himself at 11:15 a.m. near the end of the session. The board took no additional new policy actions during the session.
