The Board of Public Works approved a package of routine contracts, vehicle purchases, a transit agreement and event permits during its April 15 meeting.
Procurements and awards approved included two Ford F350 chassis to Community Ford of Bloomington ($93,600.50); one Ford F250 super duty pickup with snowplow to E.B. Ford of Goshen ($60,289.48); and an award to Martell Electric for the Mishawaka Road and Pleasant Plain pedestrian crossing (quote $88,561.48). The board also authorized a request for quotes for two Ford F550 chassis for the street department to fleet manager Josh Holt.
The board accepted a transit agreement with the Michiana Area Council of Governments (MACOG), reflecting an increased amount of $250,000 consistent with council budget approval. It also approved Resolution 26-R-05 accepting transfer of three parcels from the Redevelopment Commission for future Board projects, and a slate of youth and event permits covering community events from May through September, including the Elkhart Jazz Festival and Hispanic Heritage Festival.
All listed motions were approved by voice vote. The board held no public comment at the end of the meeting and adjourned.
