Board approves large accessory building permit and one‑lot preliminary plat near Lester Prairie

McLeod County commissioners approved two land‑use items on April 21: a conditional use permit for a large accessory structure and a preliminary one‑lot plat.

Mark Teleski, environmental service director, introduced conditional use permit 26‑06, noting the parcel is 4.65 acres in the agricultural zone and that both the Sumter Township board and the County Planning Commission recommended approval with the condition that the structure be for personal use only; expansion or revenue generation would require a new permit. The board approved the permit.

Teleski also presented Preliminary Plat 26‑01 (North Elmwood), a one‑lot preliminary plat for Christopher Schultz near Lester Prairie on a 5.33‑acre parcel to remain zoned agricultural. He explained the three‑step plat process (sketch, state‑statute required preliminary public hearing, final plat) and said the county and township recommended approval; the board approved the preliminary plat.
