Red Hook board authorizes bids for water storage tank rehab

The Red Hook Town Board voted April 22 to publish bidding documents for the Water Storage Tank Rehabilitation project and to receive bids until 11:00 AM on May 21, 2026.

Brandy Nelson (S12), the town’s project engineer on grant and capital work, walked the board through plans and specifications dated April 2026 and the recommended procurement calendar, including a pre-bid meeting and a period for questions and addenda. She advised the board that allowing the bid now would keep the project on a schedule that supports potential summer/fall work and aligns with state procurement timelines.

Supervisor Robert (S1) moved the resolution as revised to include correct counsel names and administrative details; a motion to let bids (resolution #16 as modified) was seconded and carried with board members present voicing 'Aye.' The consultant will coordinate notice posting and advertise the bidding documents to encourage broad vendor participation.

Next steps: staff and the engineering consultant will post the notice to bidders, conduct the pre-bid meeting, and return to the board with recommendations for award following bid opening.
