The applicant said the space will be renovated (estimated interior renovation cost ~$200,000), will include upgraded restrooms and acoustical treatments for sound attenuation, and will be staffed during events. Planning staff recommended conditions limiting the maximum occupancy to 96 persons and hours of operation to 9 a.m.–12 a.m., and requiring all activity to remain indoors. Council asked about proximity to residential property and enforcement if noise complaints arise; staff said standard town noise rules apply and that the SUP conditions provide the regulatory basis for code enforcement.
With no neighborhood opposition presented at the hearing, the council approved the SUP unanimously.
