Eatonville board hears stadium, track and facilities update; ribbon cutting set for May 1

District facilities staff updated the board on the Eatonville High School stadium and related capital work, saying most construction is complete and a community ribbon-cutting is planned.

Facilities staff said the track has received the second asphalt lift and will get a rubberized coating and finish in early summer, weather permitting. Two flagpoles are installed, the scoreboard has been delivered and assembled, perimeter fencing is going up, and restroom modules were craned into place on site. Temporary occupancy for the stadium is planned for May 1; a ribbon-cutting ceremony is scheduled that day at noon as part of a community event.

Staff noted lights for the stadium remain on back order and some systems (sound, final field surfacing) are being finalized. Board members and attendees praised the local contractor work and community support; staff said they have coordinated with the general contractor to allow field use by school teams while finishing remaining work.

The board did not take further action on capital funding at the meeting; staff said they will continue final commissioning tasks and inform the board if timelines change.
