Senior Commission votes to bring park-tour discussion to June agenda

At the April 23 meeting, a commissioner proposed adding a park-tour item to the June agenda so commissioners could visit park and recreation facilities across Carlsbad. The commissioner making the request explained the tour would help new commissioners and provide broader context for the department’s work.

Staff noted the fiscal-year end and limited Class B hours and suggested postponing the actual tour until August to avoid diverting staff resources during a busy period. The motion was moved, seconded and approved to bring a park-tour agenda item to the June meeting for further discussion and to finalize possible dates.

The commission did not finalize tour dates at the April meeting; staff and commissioners agreed to discuss scheduling details and options at the June meeting and to consider August dates as an alternative.
