Building and Standards Commission elects chair and vice chair; schedules June 11 retreat

At the regular meeting the Building and Standards Commission conducted its annual election of officers for the 05/01/2026–04/30/2027 term. Commissioner Michael Francis was nominated and acclaimed as chair, and Jeffrey Musgrove was nominated and confirmed as vice chair. Both will begin their terms on May 1.

Commissioners also discussed retreat logistics and selected June 11 from 12:00–4:00 p.m. for a retreat session (working lunch) to review department processes, case flow from permitting through hearings, and to prepare the annual internal review report due in July. Staff noted the retreat is a special called open meeting, will be recorded, and may include department presentations and permitting staff.

The commission adjourned after confirming future agenda items and scheduling a social‑worker presence for a follow‑up hearing on an earlier continued item.
