Staff described a multi-partnership regional media project that pairs a for-profit partner (True Conglomerate) with a regional nonprofit consortium called Design Together and other local taxing bodies to create digital-media work opportunities for students.
Presenters said the initiative began as a no-cost after-school experience and is now planned to expand into paid summer internships; the collaboration would produce a set of videos (staff referenced a 36-video slate tied to a $5,000 contribution) and the partners offered distribution support. Staff emphasized footage would be owned collectively by participating entities and could be reused by the district.
Board moved to authorize staff to execute service agreements to proceed with the All Things Media/Design Together initiatives. Presenters said students would gain production, editing and distribution experience and that Lake County workforce development and potentially the Boys & Girls Club could be involved going forward.
The authorization allows staff to finalize agreements and take the next procedural steps to implement the partnership work.
