Council approves special‑use permit for Champions Chapel International at Highway Boulevard site

The Katy City Council approved an ordinance on April 13 granting a special‑use permit to Champions Chapel International to operate a religious institution at 6193 Highway Boulevard, Suite 201.

City planning staff said the site previously housed a church, noted an earlier parking variance for the site and reported no known complaints from surrounding businesses. Planning and Zoning recommended approval at its March 24 meeting. Mayor Pro Tem Chris Harris made the motion to approve the ordinance and Council Member Roy Robertson seconded; council voted in favor and the motion carried.
