County staff reported that Ozaukee Christian School has signed a contract to buy the UWMWC campus, and that closing is expected in the coming weeks.
Mr. Stern, a county staff member, told the board that "Ozaukee Christian School did sign the contract with the county to effectuate the purchase of the campus," adding that "closing [is expected] to occur within the next few weeks, and we'll transfer ownership at that time." Stern said the city had already completed its portion and the county now holds sole ownership of the building.
Supervisor Gallitz asked the agreed sale price; Stern replied, "$3,000,000." County Executive Joe Man clarified the scope of that amount, saying, "that's $3,000,000 for the buildings and the surrounding immediate property, including the parking lot and soccer field." He added that the "balance of the land" could be considered for a separate sale after the OCS transaction closes and that there is "still the potential for above $3,000,000."
The board did not take a new vote on the matter during the meeting; the staff report described the contract as signed and the county as preparing for closing. Board members asked only clarifying questions about price and which portions of the property the $3,000,000 covered.
The county did not provide a written deed, closing date, or details of any contingencies in the report; the board was told a final closing is expected "within the next few weeks." The next steps are a county closing process and processing any remaining land sale separately if pursued.
