Lincoln County approves warrants, payroll warrants and contracts, including $327,088 radio tower upgrade

The Lincoln County Board of Commissioners approved several routine and larger financial items at its April 7 meeting in Wiscasset.

Finance Director Michelle Kane presented Warrant #46 in the amount of $503,667.15 and Warrant #47 for $120,338.74; both were approved unanimously. Director Kane also presented Payroll Warrant #2026-6 (paid March 20, 2026); the minutes list an amount that appears to contain a typographical error and the amount is not confirmed in the record. Payroll Warrant #2026-7 (paid April 3, 2026) for $291,125.75, which includes quarterly "health in lieu" payments, was approved.

Kane requested permission for the county to sign an engagement with RHR Smith to conduct the 2026 UT audit; commissioners authorized Kane to sign the contract and approved a purchase order for audit services for $5,175.

The board approved a $327,088.54 purchase authorization to RCM to upgrade radio towers serving Law and Fire channels. Director Tara Doe said the upgrades will substantially improve reception and clarity; the motion passed 3-0.

Other financial items approved included payment authorizations for courthouse generator repair ($3,060.74 to Cummings Northeast) and an amendment to a recycling roll-off container authorization to increase the cap from up to $25,000 to up to $32,000 to cover the actual cost of four new roll-off containers.
