Administration explained dual‑enrollment rules: students may enroll in a defined number of dual‑enrollment credits tuition‑free (the district cited an allowance of up to the equivalent of two dual courses or a set number of credits, and noted students may take further courses at a reduced 50% rate). Officials said dual‑credit courses offered by Lockwood staff or through formal district partnerships remain weighted per district policy; outside correspondence courses that a student pays for are not weighted for honors calculation.

Board members framed the policy as an equity measure aimed at preventing wealthier students from purchasing extra coursework to boost GPA and honors standings. Staff said procedures and a consolidated Q&A document are posted with the April agenda and invited students and families to contact the school registrar for specifics on which courses qualify for weighted credit.
