The Medford Area Public School District Board of Education on Feb. 15 approved a series of routine motions including 2021–22 Cooperative Educational Service Agency (CESA) service contracts, a decision to leave student fees unchanged for 2021–22, and a revision to Support Staff Handbook section 7.3 on vacation.
Brian Hallgren moved to approve the 2021–22 CESA service contracts; OraLee Dittrich seconded, and the motion passed. DeDe Strama moved, and Cheryl Wibben seconded, a motion to leave student fees as they are for the coming school year; that motion also passed. The board voted to approve second-reading policy changes brought forward by the policy committee (items including JGA Corporal Punishment/Use of Physical Force; JGD Student Suspension; JGE Student Expulsion; JHA Student Insurance Program; and JHCA Control of Pediculosis). The policy committee’s motion to approve the second-reading changes carried.
President Dave Fleegel moved, with Cheryl Wibben seconding, to approve the changes to Support Staff Handbook section 7.3 (vacation); the motion carried. The board also moved to adjourn; a motion by Cheryl Wibben, seconded by John Zuleger, carried and the meeting ended at 7:02 p.m.
