Residents praise CIP clarity and urge renaming of "water intrusion" project

During public comment at the April 20 workshop, residents commended the CIP and urged clearer project descriptions and community communication.

Steve Friedrich (resident) thanked staff and council for producing the data and said the CIP "is critical data" that shows deferred maintenance and long‑range needs. Cynthia (resident) asked the council to revise the project title for the Upper Malaga Cove water issue, suggesting a more technical name — "Upper Malaga Cove water intrusion and hydrogeological challenges" — to better reflect the scope and to assist with funding efforts. Staff and council agreed to update the project title if the council so wishes.

Councilmembers responded that the report will be used to inform residents, be updated as a living document, and that staff will pursue grant opportunities where eligible. There were no votes at the workshop; staff said they will incorporate requested title changes and follow up on communication plans for residents.
