Board approves routine claims, personnel items, coop agreement and several donations

The MSD Steuben County Board of Trustees on April 21 approved several routine and informational items, including financial claims, personnel recommendations, cooperative agreements, donations, and travel requests.

The board approved the minutes from March 17 and the March 23 executive session and approved claims presented by staff. Personnel considerations were approved as presented.

The board accepted a $1,000 donation from the Steuben County Community Foundation to Pleasant Lake Montessori to continue use of a scouting camp. Mr. Wagner also requested approval to accept a park bench donation from the Angola Middle School student lighthouse team; the board approved that donation for placement outside Door 1 at Angola Middle School.

Administration presented the annual Northeast Indiana Special Education Cooperative Agreement (a coop of 14 area schools that provides special education services); the board approved continuing participation for the next year. The board also approved two out-of-state travel requests: Ryan Park kindergarten to Coldwater, Michigan for a children’s museum trip and Angola University’s trip to the University of Michigan in Ann Arbor.

Other personnel and posting items approved included posting seven adjunct fire science positions for the Angola program and a two-thirds Spanish adjunct posting; administration noted a likely candidate with four years of Spanish teaching experience.

All routine motions recorded in the meeting were carried as presented.
