Annual Revisors bill passes Senate Judiciary unanimously and is placed on consent

The Senate Judiciary Committee advanced Senate Bill 169, the annual Revisors bill, by unanimous vote on April 22 after sponsors described the measure as technical statutory housekeeping to correct obsolete or unclear language.

Vice Chair and Senator Carson summarized the bill as routine work from the Office of the Revisor and thanked staff for drafting. No witnesses signed up to speak; the committee closed the amendment phase and Senator Carson moved adoption and referral to the Committee of the Whole.

Miss Johnson called the roll; the committee voted 7–0 to send SB169 to the Committee of the Whole. The Vice Chair then suggested, and the committee agreed, to place the bill on the consent calendar.

The Revisors bill is intended to make technical corrections across statutes and does not change policy intent, according to sponsors. The committee recorded the unanimous recommendation to advance the bill for further consideration by the full Senate.
