Trustees approve three procurement items including kitchen equipment and pest-management pool

The Ector County Independent School District board on April 21 approved three purchase orders required by policy CH for amounts exceeding $100,000.

Finance staff described the items as two school-nutrition equipment purchases — Smart Restaurant Supply for $244,126 and Stenger MC for $102,124 — and a pooled-vendor agreement for pest-management services totaling $215,000 for the rest of the fiscal year. Staff said the purchases are funded from the general fund (school nutrition) and that Texas law requires districts to maintain an integrated pest-management program.

A trustee moved and seconded the purchase approvals and the board approved them by hand vote. Staff told the board these are routine purchases required to maintain operations and food-service readiness; no bond funds were involved in these items.

The procurement items will be issued by purchase order after final administrative processing.
